Transcribe Google Meet calls from your Windows PC
Google Meet runs in a browser tab, and its own transcription depends on the Workspace edition of whoever organised the call. Capturing the audio on your own machine removes that dependency entirely.

How do you transcribe a Google Meet call with Xuula?
Start a Xuula meeting recording while the Meet tab is open. Xuula captures your microphone and the Windows system audio — the audio the browser is playing — and builds a speaker-separated transcript. No browser extension is installed, nothing joins the call, and the record is saved on your PC.
No extension in the browser
Meet add-ons and note-taking extensions need permission to read the page and can break when Google changes it. Xuula sits outside the browser and records system audio, so a Meet interface update cannot take your transcription away.
Independent of the organiser’s Workspace plan
Google Meet’s own transcription and note-taking are tied to Workspace editions and to the host’s settings. When you are the guest on someone else’s call, that is their decision — capturing locally means it does not have to be.
The browser tab is just an audio source
Whether the meeting is in Chrome, Edge or Firefox makes no difference: Xuula records the sound Windows plays. That also means it transcribes the recorded Meet playback, the webinar and the training video with the same mechanism.
Translated captions above the tab
Optional always-on-top caption windows show the original and the translation over the browser, and both are saved with the conversation. The Meet call itself is untouched — no captions are pushed to other participants.
The limits worth knowing
Xuula cannot read Meet chat, the attendee list or the calendar event, and it cannot capture audio Windows will not expose. It is Windows-only, so a Meet call on a Mac or a phone is out of scope. Consent to record is still yours to obtain.
Google Meet transcription questions
No. Xuula is a Windows application that records system audio, so nothing is installed into the browser and no page-reading permission is granted to anything.
Yes. Capture happens on your own PC, so it does not depend on the organiser’s Google Workspace edition or on transcription being enabled for that meeting.
Any of them. Xuula records what Windows plays rather than what a particular browser is doing, so Chrome, Edge and Firefox behave identically.
Yes. Your microphone and the system audio are recorded into one synchronised stream, so both sides of the conversation are transcribed with speakers separated and labelled.
No. Xuula saves the recording, transcript, translation and notes into a Project on your own computer. It has no access to your Google account.
